Fast Company: The Case for the 21-Hour Workweek to Save the World

Interesting article in fast company. A portion of the article suggest that if we were working less, there would be less consumption, and if across the board, could increase everyone’s overall satisfaction and help protect the worlds natural resources. We all over consume to fulfill a need but that feeling is temporary and fleeting. We work more to try it again and the cycle continues as our closets and garages fill up with more plastic and rare earth metals, etc…

Making the standard and accepted workweek shorter would level the playing field for all and decrease consumption. It would only work if almost everyone engaged in it, which might be a long shot, but it’s an interesting concept nonetheless.

Cheers to the 21 hour workweek! :)
